Heshie: We have to do the right thing. We have to be able to go to sleep at night knowing that we did the right thing.
Telling the stories of the lives forever changed on October 7, 2023.
('panim' פנים means 'faces' in hebrew)
Everyone has their story.
On October 7th, 2023, the world forever changed for so many of else. It was a day when so much fell apart, when we witnessed the truest evil be perpetuated, and worse, celebrated.
It was a day our hearts that we will remember for our hearts collectively breaking. And it was a day that reminded us of who we are.
We are survivors, the descendants warriors, kings, and prophets. A nation that despite all odds has thrived, and will continue to do so as long as we can remember to remain united.
We are a nation of incredible people who stopped everything they were doing - in Israel and around the world - to help in our time of need. We saw our allies come to our defense. We witnessed our collective strength emerge like never before.
Life will forever be defined as who we were before October 7th, and who we became after.

Meet the Photographer
Hi! I'm Elyte.
Nice to meet you.
I'm Elyte, an award-winning portrait photographer.
I am originally from Toronto, Canada, but have been splitting my time between Canada and Israel since 2023.
On October 7th I was in Tel Aviv. I woke up to the air raid siren, and thus began my personal war story. I fundraised, I volunteered, I did anything to I could to contribute to our nation.
The one thing I could NOT do, however, was pick up my camera. My heart was simply too shattered to photograph people, even though I knew that's exactly what I needed to do to help me process the trauma we were all enduring.
That's when the Panim Project was born. I knew I could use my camera to help people tell their stories of this pivotal moment in our history.
Join me and tell your story!
